Cocktail Garnish Photo Series
How do you take a cocktail photo up a notch and add texture and dimension? You add an eye-catching garnish!
Garnishes are pretty easy to make, some are even as easy as sticking an olive or fruit on a cocktail pick, yet they add so much to the image.
Here are some ideas for cocktail garnishes:
An orange slice
It’s so simple and easy but it draws your eye to the glass. And all you need is an orange and a knife. You can try garnishing your drink with different size slices, or use an orange wheel.
An orange twist!
They’re easy to make (and fun) and it makes your image really dynamic.
How to Make an Orange Twist
Tools Needed:
A metal straw
A pairing knife or citrus peeler
Damp paper towel
Instructions:
Using a pairing knife or citrus peeler, peel all the way around the orange. You can trim the peel into a rectangle using a pairing knife if you like a more uniform look. Now, twist the peel around a metal straw and wrap a damp paper towel over the peel until you are ready to garnish your drink.
Go simple with an olive garnish.
It’s so simple, all you need is some olives and a cocktail pick, yet it adds something extra to your image.
To add some motion and to try something fun, why not create a GIF of your garnish? Try moving the garnish around on the drink, or move it in Photoshop, and create a GIF.
